Dear Families,

We hope you had a great week! Here is a highlight of our learning:

Literacy / Writing
This week, we continued our literacy centres, focusing on reading comprehension and multisyllabic words.  Students are finishing their nonfiction writing pieces and have begun a new creative story. They are practicing story structure by using story maps to plan their ideas and develop the plot. Students are also practicing on adding descriptive words and using dialogue to make their writing more engaging.

Math
Students are continuing to review a variety of math concepts based on their individual learning needs.

Social Studies
We have started a new unit on Citizenship. Students are learning how people contribute to their communities and how their actions can make a difference. We are also exploring the concept of quality of life, including what helps make life safe, healthy, and happy.
